SHARP Trail Construction

The Sherwins Area Recreation Plan, or SHARP, was adopted by the Town of Mammoth Lakes as part of the Town's updated "Trail System Master Plan" in October of 2011. In the Summer of 2013, the first SHARP trail was completed by volunteers working with the Summer of Stewardship Trail Days program.

LABSS Trail Construction

The Executive Summary of LABSS, the Lakes Basin Special Study, states that "...high levels of visitation and inadequate official trail connections have resulted in the degradation of official trails and a proliferation of informal user-created trails in the Lakes Basin." New 'official' trails are now being built.
