Shady Rest Park is an extensive and popular public recreation facility carved into a forest of Jeffrey pine at the end of the Shady Rest Path and Sawmill Cutoff Road. In the summer months the park offers playground equipment, a sheltered picnic area, restrooms, sand volleyball courts, softball fields, green-grass soccer fields, a concession stand, a parking area and a small "street scene" skatepark designed for all ability levels. In winter, the park provides access to snowmobilers and Nordic skiers. The Town of Mammoth Lakes is soliciting public opinion on how this recreation amenity can better sere residents and visitors. Please come and tell us how you use the park and about your vision for winter recreation.
In order to prepare for this summit please visit the park. Be prepared to discuss how you use this park in the winter and how you see this facility better serving the community in the winter.
