Event Co-Hosts: California Trout & Mammoth Lakes Tourism
Project Description: On September 14 please join the Mammoth Lakes Trail System Crew along with Co-Hosts California Trout and Mammoth Lakes Tourism for the annual Lakes Basin Cleanup, part of the Great Sierra River Cleanup. Meet at Horseshoe Lake at 8:30 a.m. for a delicious free bagel breakfast provided by Old New York Deli and Bagel. After a safety talk from our trail crew leaders we'll begin our day of much needed cleanup and cut the ribbon on the new Horseshoe Bridge. Thanks to the generosity of Volunteer Eastern Sierra, the day will end with a gourmet lunch from Bleu Handcrafted Foods, followed by a raffle and lots of great giveaways!
This year, Trail Days is going green! So please bring your own plates and silverware to prevent the need for single use products.
All ages and abilities are welcome, as are families and clubs! Please arrive dressed for trail work (long pants, sun protection, sturdy close-toed shoes and gloves), and don’t worry if you can’t make it quite at 8:30; we can check you in and send you off to a task in progress just about anytime before 10:30 a.m. Trail Days are made possible by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Inyo National Forest, Mammoth Lakes Recreation, and Mammoth’s own Measure R! Special thanks to KMMT Radio for airtime to get the word out!
And if you want more opportunities to get involved with our great Trail System keep an eye out for upcoming Mammoth Trails meetings where you can share your thoughts and give input to help guide the future of the MLTS! Visit mltpa.org or call (760) 914-1769 for any further details.
