Trail Days Sustainable Recreation 2018

Series Sponsors: Old New York Deli and Bagel CompanyBleu Handcrafted Foods and Volunteer Eastern Sierra

Project Description: The Town of Mammoth Lakes and Inyo National Forest are teaming up again for the 10th ANNIVERSARY SEASON OF "TRAIL DAYS" on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System! Beginning June 2 with National Trails Day and finishing on September 15 with The Great Sierra River Cleanup, this summer will give volunteers plenty of opportunities to help maintain the places we all love to play. Funded by Measure R, local recreation user groups and businesses will co-host and sponsor each of the events, providing free breakfast, free lunch, and lots of great raffle prizes for volunteers. Trail Days 2018 events will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Saturdays listed below...

All ages and ability levels are welcome. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian, and all volunteers must sign a liability waiver prior to beginning work. We will provide all necessary tools and specialized safety gear, but ask that participants arrive in long pants, with work gloves, sturdy close-toed shoes, and with some form of eye protection (sunglasses are fine). Anyone without proper footwear may have to sit out, so come prepared and dressed to get dirty! And please don't forget your sunscreen, hat, bug spray, or water bottle. Water will be available on site, and we will serve a bagel breakfast promptly at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers also will be served lunch after the work program (approximately three hours) is complete. Giveaways from a variety of generous donors will be awarded to our hard-working volunteers.
