September 16: Lakes Basin Cleanup

Series SponsorsOld New York Deli and Bagel Company, Bleu Handcrafted Foods, Volunteer Eastern Sierra

This Event’s Sponsor: The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce

Project Description:  Please join the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce for the annual Lakes Basin Cleanup event hosted in partnership with the Great Sierra River Cleanup! A free breakfast will be provided by Old New York Bagel Company. Anyone interested in being a regular member of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System stewardship team should be sure to show up to get trained for future SOS projects. We'll be doing general cleanup of the much loved Mammoth Lakes Basin, installing new Mammoth Lakes Trail System soft surface signage, and doing general trail maintenance. A free gourmet lunch – brought to you by Volunteer Eastern Sierra and Bleu Handcrafted Foods – will end the day of trail work, along with raffle prizes, lots of great giveaways and a special prize in memory of Skip Harvey. All ages and abilities are welcome. Families and clubs are encouraged to come help. Please arrive dressed for trail work (long pants, sun protection, sturdy close-toed shoes and gloves), and don’t worry if you can’t make it right at 8:30. We can check you in and send you off to a task in progress anytime before 10:30 a.m. Trail Days are made possible by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, the Inyo National ForestMammoth Lakes Recreation, and Mammoth’s own Measure R. And a special thanks to KMMT Radio for providing some priceless airtime to help spread the word!
