July 1: Mammoth Rock Trail Connector
Series Sponsors: Old New York Deli and Bagel Company, Bleu Handcrafted Foods, Volunteer Eastern Sierra
This Event’s Sponsors: Footloose Sports, and Sierra Eastside Mountain Bike Association (SEMBA)
Project Description: Join Footloose Sports and the Sierra Eastside Mountain Bike Association (SEMBA) for a very special day for the Mammoth Lakes Trail System, as we gather for trail work and to celebrate the grand opening of the new “Mammoth Rock Trail Connector” – the first new trail from the Sherwin Area Recreation Plan – followed by an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m.!
Meet at the Sherwins Trailhead near the propane tank farm on Sherwin Creek Road for a free bagel breakfast provided by Old New York Deli, safety talk, and work assignments. A free gourmet lunch – brought to you by Volunteer Eastern Sierra and Bleu Handcrafted Foods – will cap off the day of trail work, along with raffle prizes and free giveaways. All ages and abilities are welcome, as are families and clubs! Please arrive dressed for trail work (long pants, sun protection, sturdy close-toed shoes and gloves), and don’t worry if you can’t make it quite at 8:30; we can check you in and send you off to a task in progress just about anytime before 10:30 a.m. Trail Days are made possible by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Inyo National Forest, Mammoth Lakes Recreation, and Mammoth’s own Measure R! And thanks to KMMT Radio for airtime to spread the word!
