Project Description: Down in the deserts, it’s been a long hot summer, but up here on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System, we can always find cool, clear, water! And where better to find it than on the Coldwater Trails! Please join Mammoth Medical Missions and the Mammoth Track Club – featuring their Big Schwag Giveaway! - for trail work on the Coldwater Trails of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System, along with Friends of the Inyo and MLTPA. Special thanks to the Inyo National Forest, Town of Mammoth Lakes, and Measure R! We’ll meet at the Coldwater/George trailhead up above Coldwater campground at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. All ages are welcome, and a free lunch and raffle prizes will be had by all – everybody goes home a winner! Close-toed shoes and long pants required, visit mltpa.org or call (760) 873-6500 for details. Volunteers will be working on a variety of trail projects on the great trails in this area, including the Duck Pass Trail, the Heart Lake Trail and the Coldwater-George Trail. Volunteers will also get an introduction to trail maintenance skills from Friends of the Inyo staff, and those interested in being regular members of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System stewardship team should be sure to show up on August 23rd to get trained up for future SOS projects.
