Project Description: 100 Volunteer Challenge! You say you want to see 100 volunteers cleaning up the Mammoth Lakes Basin on Saturday, September 20? starting at 8:30 AM? 100 Volunteer Challenge!  And you want a free bagel breakfast from Old New York Deli, free lunch from Bleu Handcrafted Foods, and the best Schwag giveaway in the Eastern Sierra? 100 Volunteer Challenge!  And you want to be part of the 2014 California State Wide Great Sierra River Cleanup up Day? 100 Volunteer Challenge!  Well alrighty then! Please join Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, Kittredge Sports, Southern California Edison, Friends of the Inyo and MLTPA for this season’s final day of trail work on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System as we all get together to clean up the Mammoth Lakes Basin! Meet at the Horseshoe Lake parking lot at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, September 20 - all ages are welcome, close-toed shoes and long pants required - please carpool or ride the trolley if possible.   • Who: Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome! Please dress for trail work: sturdy, close-toed shoes, hat, and long pants. Gloves and tools provided.

EVENT STATISTICS:

  • 47 volunteers 
  • 5 lakes visited
  • Approx. 7-8 miles of lake shore and trail patrolled
  • Approx. 1200 lbs of trash removed
  • Approx. 155 lbs of recycling and scrap metal removed
  • Good Times Had By All - !
