Mammoth Lakes SOS 2009: August 15, Duck Pass
Co-hosted by the High Sierra Striders and Footloose Sports!
Project Description: Thanks to the committment of co-hosts Footloose Sports and the High Sierra Striders, approximately 20 trail-runners and -hikers spent their Saturday morning giving back to the land. Great work was done on the Duck Pass Trail and trailhead area, as well as the Hart Lake/Consolidated Mine zone. Volunteers were fueled by Footloose's generous donation of bagels, cream cheese, juice, and coffee and RE-fueled with a healthy buffet-style lunch.

DELIVERABLES:
Overall:
- 20 volunteers
- 9 staff (MLTPA, FOI)
- 60 total hours of volunteer stewardship, a $1,215 value
- 20 pounds of trash removed
- 3 picnic tables painted
Specifics:
Duck Pass Trail Team:
- 20 switchback cuts restored along 1.5 miles of trail to Arrowhead Lake
- 200 feet of "spiderweb" use trails restored at trailhead
Emerald Lake Trail Team:
- 400 feet of trail maintenance
- Rock lining at trailhead
Heart Lake Trail Team:
- 100 feet of trail maintained
- 2 signs painted and repaired
- 1 sign replaced
