Mammoth Lakes SOS 2009: July 18, Horseshoe Lake

Co-hosted by Mammoth Pet Shop!

Project Description: Nearly 30 volunteers dedicated their Saturday morning to spruce up one of the most-visited spots in the Lakes Basin: Horseshoe Lake. Mammoth Pet Shop played co-host to this event, bringing out pet owners of all stripes to pitch in. Folks young and old(er) performed a variety of stewardship tasks under bright sunshine and warm temps, including repainting almost all of the picnic tables where visitors enjoy their lunches all summer long. (See the “Deliverables” section below for statistics.) As a special treat, a few members of the Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District crew were on hand to help prep the area for the 39th annual Fireman’s Canoe Race and Picnic, held July 25-26.
