Mammoth Lakes SOS 2009: September 12, Convict Lake
Co-hosted by The Trout Fitter and Convict Lake Resort!
Project Description: More than 20 volunteers came out to clean up Convict Lake on September 12! Groups of trash-removers (many of whom were there to participate in the Coastal Cleanup Day effort that was part of this event) picked up hundreds of feet of fishing line, which was recycled thanks to Chad Brizendine of The Trout Fitter and Berkley Fishing. Another group hiked to the lake's inlet and removed brush and debris from the boardwalk; others did trail maintenance while a paint crew spruced up picnic tables and benches along the shore. The whole group reconvened at noon and Convict Lake Resort barbecued up a delicious lunch just before an afternoon thunderstorm hit.
